ABOUT LOCKWOOD PAINTING COMPANY
OUR FRIENDLY APPROACH
We believe having your home painted shouldn't be complicated or stressful. From the first conversation to the final walkthrough, we focus on clear communication, personal attention, and treating your home with care.
WE ARE FRIENDLY PEOPLE WHO PAINT

At Lockwood Painting Company, we believe homeowners deserve more than a crew that shows up, paints, and moves on to the next job.
We're a small, detail-focused painting company built around quality, responsiveness, and doing things right.
Founded by Rich Douglas, The team at Lockwood Painting brings more than 20 years of experience in home improvement and painting to every project. Lockwood may be a new name, but the experience behind it is not. That experience has taught us that the difference between a good paint job and a great one is often in the details — careful preparation, clean lines, thorough work, and treating your home with the same care we would our own.
We're proud to take a little old-fashioned pride in our work. That means answering when you call, communicating clearly, showing up when we say we will, and standing behind the work we do. That's what friends do!
Because we're small, you get something larger companies often struggle to provide: personal attention and direct communication. We stay involved from start to finish, and we don't believe in rushing through a project just to get to the next one.
From the first conversation to the final walkthrough, our goal is simple: do excellent work, communicate clearly, and leave your home looking its best. We aim for 5 Stars!
Quality you can see. Service you can count on.
WHY I STARTED LOCKWOOD PAINTING
I moved to Southwest Florida to be closer to aging family. As I settled into the area, I started thinking about what I wanted the next chapter of my life to look like.
There was something else that stuck with me. For a period of time, I drove to work every day on Lockwood Ridge Road. I saw the name every day, and over time, it became familiar to me. When I started thinking about a name for my company, Lockwood just felt right. It was a name that was already connected to my life here in Southwest Florida.
I knew I wanted to build something of my own. But I didn't just want to start another company and chase one job after another. I wanted to build a brand in Southwest Florida — a name that homeowners could come to know, trust, and feel good about inviting into their homes.
I've spent more than 20 years around home services, and that experience taught me what matters when you're working with someone's home. People want good work, but they also want someone who communicates, shows up, answers their questions, and treats their home with respect.
That's the kind of company I wanted to build.
Lockwood Painting Company is my opportunity to take that experience and build something for the long term, right here in Southwest Florida. I'm starting small and I'm intentionally keeping it personal because I believe relationships are built one homeowner at a time.
My goal is for Lockwood to become a name that homeowners throughout Sarasota, Manatee County, and the surrounding communities recognize for quality work, friendly service, clear communication, and doing what we say we'll do.
I'm proud to be building Lockwood here, and I'm looking forward to building it one relationship, one home, and one project at a time.

CLARITY BEFORE COLOR
I believe homeowners make better decisions when they understand what they're getting into.
Painting your home involves more than choosing a color. There are decisions about preparation, repairs, paint quality, finishes, timing, and how the work will be done.
My job is to help make those decisions easier.
I'll walk through the project with you, explain what I see, talk through your options, and provide a clear estimate so you understand the work before you decide to move forward.
There shouldn't be confusion about what you're paying for or what you're getting. There shouldn't be pressure to make a decision before you're ready.
Clarity comes first. Then comes color.
That's what Clarity Before Color means to me.
