FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT RESIDENTIAL PAINTING
Common Questions
Getting An Estimate
How do I get a painting estimate from Lockwood Painting?
Reach out and we'll set up an on-site walkthrough of your home. We'll look at the areas you want painted, talk through your goals, and get a feel for what the work involves. From there, you'll get a clear written estimate for the project.
Is the painting estimate free?
Yes, all residential estimates from Lockwood Painting are free.
Will someone come to my home to look at the project?
Yes. A painting project is hard to scope over the phone, so we walk the home with you, look at the surfaces, hear what you're going for, and go over your options in person.
How long does a painting estimate take?
It depends on the size and scope of the project. We'd rather take the time to understand the work properly than rush through it. Sometimes upwards of an hour or more. We do not walk the house in 10 minutes and email you an estimate days later. We take the time to understand your project and estimate it right. That way if you choose to do business with us, the process is smooth and everyone is on the same page.
Our Process
What happens after I accept the estimate?
Once you approve it, we move into the agreement and start getting your project ready. Our office handles the scheduling and the details needed to get things underway.
How far in advance do I need to schedule my painting project?
That depends on our current availability and the size of your project. Once the agreement is signed, we'll set a schedule together and keep you posted as your start date gets closer. Typically we are scheduling one to two months out from agreement date.
How does the color selection process work?
We'll give you guidance specific to your project. Depending on the areas being painted, that might mean moving or covering furniture and belongings, clearing access to the surfaces, and making sure everything's reachable when the crew arrives. High value items such as expensive light fixtures and furniture will be your responsibility to move.
What should I do to prepare my home for painting?
It depends on the size and scope of the project. We'd rather take the time to understand the work properly than rush through it. Sometimes upwards of an hour or more.
